Welcome

Straight to the point:

My name's Alex Carnegie and I'm a writer of fiction: New Weird, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Magic Realism, and anything a little bit odd. That last part may sound a little like the declaration of a someone in a cartoon tie, but there it is. I like colour. I like dreams. Nightmares too. Well, not literally...

I'll be using this blog, I guess, for the usual things people use blogs for. You know the sort of thing. You're pretty savvy.

As a writer though, I'll be writing about writing, and as a reader about reading, and as an anything about anything really. Mostly the writing and reading though.

I also have another blog, Old Shoebox, where I'll periodically be posting pieces (completed ones or scraps) that I haven't otherwise found a place for.

Now that the preamble's firmly set aside, I'd like to say once again: welcome to my blog.
