HalfLife 2 - 'Escape From City 17' and 'Black Mesa' Mod
A short film based on one of the finest computer games ever made.
The trailer for an upcoming HL2 modification that's basically a remake of the first game. Looks marvellous: it's a pity that it doesn't look like it'll ever be available for the XBOX 360 though, which is my format of choice seeing as I gave up on the PC as a gaming platform years ago - I just don't want to get into the tedious cycle of upgrades or buying new machines. This is one instance where it'd be great if Valve got involved, bought it up, started selling it for a fiver or a tenner, and released it via the Game Marketplace on Live. PC gamers will probably hate that idea because as it stands they'll just be able to download it as a free mod. Nobody likes paying for things if they don't have to...
I'm not hugely into videogames these days, haven't been since my teens, but there are a few games and franchises that inspire real enthusiasm. HalfLife is probably top of that pile.
On a related note by the way, if they ever make a HalfLife movie I think Bill Murray (pictured here with flowers in his beard) would be perfect for Dr Breen:
